Alissa and Dan were married on an amazing day of sunshine and blue skies at the Spokane Convention Center. A phenomenal couple who were very obviously made for each other. Dan would look at Alissa as if she were the most amazing thing he had ever seen in his life. Alissa couldn’t stop staring, and smiling, at him. I spent most of the day standing in awe of both of them. I was deeply honored to be a part of their wedding day and to witness the beginning of a remarkable and beautiful thing.

The wedding was in Victoria, British Columbia. An amazing city with phenomenal architecture.  I hadn’t met Myria and Jayson until that day because they were from the western Washington and I, of course, am not.  I was referred to them by Brianna and Andy, a great couple whose wedding I had photographed a couple of years back. Both Myria and Jayson were awesome to work with, they let me run all over Victoria photographing them. Their interactions with each other were priceless.

I attended the 2010 WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) convention in Las Vegas last week. This was the first time I had ever attended an event of that magnitude, I heard estimates for attendance as high as 17,000 people. I felt like a very small fish in a very large pond, as the old saying goes. It was overwhelming. I saw and listened to some of the most talented and inspirational photographers on the planet, Dane Sanders and Jasmine Star, for example.  I’ve decided it will be an annual pilgrimage for me.
